Mission Statement

Telling the Untold Stories

World Witness Project will use video storytelling as a tool to create meaningful dialogue about disadvantaged people throughout the world and put a face on the lives affected by poverty, disaster, conflict, and injustice so that people have a better understanding of the problem and what can be done to help.

The primary mission of World Witness Project will be to produce documentaries and video journalism segments for television and the web that focuses on the disadvantaged, displaced, and destabilized, whose stories are not heard. Our goal will be to give a voice to the voiceless. Projects produced and facilitated by World Witness Project will be targeted for distribution on broadcast and cable networks as well as on the web. We will also work with organizations to present video stories for their websites.

Facilitating Local Production

A secondary mission will be to provide production training, video equipment, and logistical assistance to disadvantaged peoples and foster unique local video production. Part of our mission will also be to train international aid workers so that they will have the tools to document their work and experiences aiding populations in crisis.

Values

World Witness Project’s core values include a commitment to use video as a humanitarian tool to bear witness and bring to light the lives and struggles of the disadvantaged in crisis. The World Witness Project will also adhere to core journalistic values of truth, integrity, and objectivity in its storytelling.
