Dr. Cynthia’s Clinic _ROUGH CUT_

In the Thai border town of Mae Sot up to 400 Burmese patients a day, from infants to to the elderly, come to the Mae Tao Clinic. The health clinic was founded in 1989 by Dr. Cynthia Maung after she fled Burma during the brutal military crackdowns on student protests. At the clinic Dr. Maung and her staff deliver babies, hand out medicine, perform operations, make prosthetics for landmine survivors, and make funeral arrangements for families. They care for the Burmese refugees and migrant workers from birth to death.
